“G

ood morning, I hope you both slept well?” asks Valdor, stepping up to the bench where Aurora and Kantos are sitting eating breakfast.

The aroma of freshly baked bread and the sweetness of crispy bacon hits him full force as he sits down. It makes his stomach grumble in protest and his mouth starts to salivate. His day of fasting nearly over he can’t wait to rip into something other than water.

“I did, thank you,” replies Aurora.

Kantos looks up, licking his lips before replying, “And me, Brother Valdor.”

“Good, good. I am glad. We have a full day of training for you both. I think a week in the library is more than enough to hurt both of your heads.”

“I have so many questions still,” says Kantos.

“All in good time. All in good time.” He smiles before turning serious. “You have one turn, then meet me in the courtyard.”

“Very well. We will meet you there,” Kantos replies through a mouthful of bread.

“Good,” Valdor says with a nod. He stands and starts towards his room taking a tray of food.
